I’m so excited to share this Carbon Canyon family session with you today! When the Bandak Family reached out about family photos, I just couldn’t wait to work with them! There’s something so special about family sessions. These moments allow families to reflect on the current stage of life they’re in, capturing the love, growth, and joy they share together.
We had scheduled this session weeks prior, but on the day of the session, we ended up being in the middle of a heat wave, and the temperature was about 110 degrees! It was definitely one of those moments where you just have to power through, and I’m so glad we did. One unexpected perk? We had the Redwood Grove all to ourselves, which is rare during the busy Fall season. This meant more space, more quiet moments, and the perfect setting to capture the Bandak family in all their fun and love-filled glory.
Despite the weather, the session was filled with so much laughter. It’s moments like these that remind me how important it is to capture the authentic interactions of a family—those genuine smiles and connections.
In terms of shots, we started out near the gorgeous shaded paths surrounded by towering trees. One of my favorite shots was of Elita and Jane walking hand in hand, with the golden light filtering through the trees behind them. It was such a tender mother-daughter moment. We also got a beautiful family portrait with the family dog, Bolo, lying happily at their feet. The whole scene had such a warm, golden glow that made every shot feel like magic, despite the intense heat.
To the Bandak Family, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! Your family is so sweet abd I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
Enjoy this little peek into this sweet family session!
See another family session here!
